Calculation of the plan is important before making a decision. However, such decisions must be made, for example, want to buy a house or a car, forget about it all the calculations for a while and let your subconscious mind to weigh its own options.
According to a study published in the Science journal, the consideration of the subconscious mind will produce a more satisfying option than just using the conscious mind alone, especially to determine important decisions.
It is said, either the conscious mind to make choices everyday that less important such as towels or shampoo to decide which one to buy. Even so, according to research, it needs to be accompanied by the conscious mind the subconscious mind for the decisions are more important.
In a series of studies on consumer choice, either through demonstrations or real incident among the buyers in a shopping center, the researchers from Amsterdam, Holland, believes the value of what they called a hypothesis "considerations without concern" (Deliberation-without-attention).
For example, in a test purchase of cars, participants read a series of complex facts about the car that is they are considering for purchase. Immediately after reading, they were invited to play the puzzle to make their conscious mind busy.
When finished working on the puzzle, the buyer group is claiming much more satisfied withtheir choice of car that decided to buy than the group not given the task of doing the puzzle and had to immediately decide which car they would buy only by consciously weigh information about a car that can be selected. However, to make simple decisions, like choosing a towel, the conscious mind can produce a satisfactory choice decisions.
There are several possible reasons why conscious thought is sometimes considered a bad result in consideration. According to researchers, the conscious mind has a "low capacity" which causes a person to weigh only a small part of the relevant information only and is not exactly focused on the relevance and importance of information in there.
In contrast, the human subconscious mind has a high capacity to integrate more information, thus guiding the direction of better choices.
